SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — BEAR Data Systems, Inc., a leading California IT solutions and services provider, announced today that it has been named to Inc. Magazine’s prestigious 500/5000 list of the fastest growing privately owned companies in the U.S. for 2009. BEAR Data Systems ranks #913 in the nation and #35 in San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, CA area. Growth of 330.4 percent over the past three years qualified the company for placement on the list which includes alumni honorees such as Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL), Intuit and hundreds of other industry leaders.

BEAR Data’s 330.4 percent growth rate was 262 percent higher than the median three-year growth rate of 126 percent for all the companies on the list. In the IT Services category, the group with the most companies on this year's list, BEAR Data ranks #127 out of the 658 IT Services companies listed nationwide. California topped the Inc. 5000 with 612--the most companies of any state.

BEAR Data Systems will be honored for this achievement at the 28th Annual Inc. 500|5000 Conference and Awards Ceremony, which will be held September 25, 2009 in National Harbor, MD, near Washington, D.C.

Additionally, they must be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of December 31, 2008. Revenue in 2005 must have been at least $200,000, and revenue in 2008 must have been at least $2 million.
